Abortions are very painful and difficult decisions for women, however taking a human life intentionally is morally wrong regardless of that human’s location. I have met countless pregnant women. On every occasion the baby was a burden to the woman’s health. A welcome (even desired) burden, but a burden nevertheless. Thanking God for the many women who have borne that burden and praying today for the many who stand in the face of that difficult predicament. That the Lord will minister to them and make us reflect his love to show the light in the darkness of our generation.
How appropriate that today we also get to celebrate the impending arrival of Junho and Estela’s baby. We celebrate this little girl whom we will have the privilege of meeting shortly. Dara, you are awaited with so much anticipation. You are already a little celebrity because as I write in the office I can see and hear so much excitement and energy from everyone at the prospect of meeting you. As it should be. We can’t wait!
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
Psalms 139:13-16 (NLT)
